I'm Olivia, The Cheshire Celebrant
Hello,
Hope you’re lovely and well?
I'm Olivia, The Cheshire Celebrant, and I have the privilege of helping couples create wedding ceremonies that are personal, meaningful and completely unique to them.
If you're planning your wedding, you've probably already discovered that there are countless decisions to make. Choosing the right venue, finding the perfect suppliers and bringing together all the details that will make your day unforgettable.
But while every element of your wedding matters, there is one moment that sits at the heart of it all.
Your ceremony.
It's the reason everyone has gathered. It's the moment your family and friends witness your promise to one another. It's where your story is shared and where the first day of your new chapter begins. It’s too big to be an afterthought, and too personal to just be the same as everyone else’s ceremony.
Why I Became a Celebrant
In short, I’ve been to too many weddings where the ceremony has felt like a tick-box exercise.
Where it felt rushed, impersonal, and like the only bit of the day we actually got to hear about the couple was in the speeches…
...and when I say couple, I mean what went down on the stag do, and how gorgeous the Father of the Bride thinks his daughter looks (and rightly so!).
But something was missing.
The couple’s story and what marriage actually means to them.
The adventures they’ve shared and the reason they chose each other.
In my opinion, this should underpin your ceremony; to give a bit of context and truth to the vows and promises you’re making to each other.
This is a big deal, and in my experience, letting someone mumble their way through a generic ceremony while your guests wonder what time the bar opens just isn’t good enough.
It’s the biggest day of your life, and you deserve for your ceremony to reflect that.
Choosing a celebrant over a registrar allows you to move away from this generic, rushed feel and move your ceremony up in the ranks of priorities for the day.
No two stories are the same.
No two relationships are the same.
No two ceremonies should be either.
My Approach
There is no "right way" to have a wedding ceremony.
Some couples want something romantic and emotional.
Others want something relaxed and full of laughter.
Some want a formal celebration.
Others prefer something completely unconventional.
Most couples want a little bit of everything.
My job is to help create a ceremony that feels like you.
That means taking the time to understand you and your story in a super relaxed way.
Again, there are no rules – you can disclose as much or as little as you like!
I use a bit of a Mr & Mrs approach, write your unique ceremony and then edit it until it’s completely right.
I’ll arrive in plenty of time to go through things on the big day – set up and answer any last-minute questions (but not infringe on any of your time to get ready – don’t worry!).
Leaving you to walk down the aisle, take it all in, and make memories to last a lifetime.
